TREX Indexing: activating failed with user has no permission

Symptom
Activating message indexing with TREX from the Index Administration UI in Runtime Workbench fails for the Adapter Engine. The error message states that the user has no permissions, although he is assigned to all relevent user roles (roles with modify and administration rights like SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR, SAP_XI_CONFIGURATOR, SAP_XI_MONITOR,…).

Symptom
Activating a program containing implicit enhancements can last from 5-10 minutes

When activating a program contining enhancements, the program used to generate index for where used list ‘RS_NEW_PROGRAM_INDEX’ is called many times.This can cause performance problems during activation.
