Symptom

The note covers the following fixes/enhancements:
The conversion of a table that is located in a partition-by-growth universal tablespace (uts) fails with SQLCODE -104. The attached correction fixes this problem.The new profile parameterdbs/db2/no_xsapis introduced. If set to 1 in the default profile DEFAULT.PFL all tables are created in single-table tablespaces.The correction in this note enables the installation of systems with Basis SP13-15 (e.g. NW7.0S R3, ERP 2006 SR3) exclusivly with partition-by-growth single-table tablespaces. The fix needs to be applied directly after finishing the installation. Subsequently, you have to import Basis SPs SAPKB70014, SAPKB70015 & SAPKB70016 to have full support of partition-by-growth tablespaces (see SAP note 686905).Without the correction the import of these SPs would run into DDIC activation errors.

Reason and Prerequisites

Systems with Basis SP15 and lower cannot handle partiton-by-growth universal tablespaces.

Solution

Proceed as follows:
1. Apply the attached correction instruction.2. Update the system to Basis SP16 (SAPKB70016) or higher to enable full support of partition-by-growth universal tablespaces.3. Re-apply the attached correction.
