GDT conversion amount: Supposedly too many decimal places

Symptom
When you convert an amount field of the type GDT “Amount” from the XML display to the internal SAP format, the system issues the error message “Number of decimal places exceeds maximum allowed”, even though the number of decimal places in the XML is correct.

Reason and Prerequisites
This problem is caused by a program error that occurs after you implement the corrections from Note 1067635 or after you import the Support Packages SAPKB62063, SAPKB64021 or SAPKB70014.
Solution
NW700 user: Import NW700 Support Package 16.
Other user: Implement the program correction.
