Symptom

You want to display the spool request for a job step in transaction SM37. However, the system displays a spool request that does not seem to correspond to the relevant job.

Reason and Prerequisites

The spool request that originally corresponded to this job was deleted in the meantime. The number was then used again for a new spool request.

Solution
1. Import the relevant Support Package. The system then displays a spool request for a job only if the date on which it was created is earlier than the end date of the job. Otherwise, the system issues an error message.2. Import the kernel patch described in Note 1276747 into Release 7.00.3. In Release 7.00, set the profile parameter batch/recycle_on with value 1.4. In Release 7.00, in transaction SE11, create an index for the field SPOOLID for the table TBTC_SPOOLID.

ATTENTION: Unfortunately, two errors were delivered with the first version of this note.
1. The system may not be able to display a spool request from transaction SM37 if there are time differences between the database and the application server.2. The spool display may not work from the step overview of a job.
In these cases, implement all of the correction instructions or import the Support Package with the highest number.
