Symptom

If you open more than six windows from the Enterprise Portal, the system may issue the error message “Session timeout” in one or several windows that you have previously opened.

Reason and Prerequisites

This error occurs because no more than six external session identifiers (ESID) are allowed for each user.
For each ESID that is newly requested, the system removes the oldest entry.

Solution

Set the following parameter to increase the maximum number of ESIDs for each user:
icm/HTTP/esid_max_ctx
You can set any value up to 16. If you set a value higher than 16, the system issues an error message and sets the value to 16.
