This note documents changes in patch collection 10 for the Startup Framework.
Solution

This patch collection contains fixes for the following errors:
Small response messages from the JStart Instance Controller to the Start Service are not correctly initialized and caused failures in the SAP Start Service (in 7.10, 7.11).Sizing values for tables in shared memory are not checked, invalid values (1 or less) caused JStart to fail (in 7.11, 7.20).The SfFreeShmProcess() function reports erroneous error messages during shutdown (in 7.02, 7.20).Applications failed because web sessions were unexpectedly closed. (in 7.10, 7.11, 7.20)

In addition, this patch collection contains the following changes:
The default timeout for the start of child processes is increased to 30 seconds. (7.10, 7.11).
See SAP Note 1325140 for additional information.The SAP JVM contains an improved garbage collection (GC) algorithm – the “concurrent mark and sweep” GC. The garbage collection monitoring has been extended to provide accurate monitoring information for this new algorithm.
