Symptom

Up to now, print files for ADS documents are saved in the GLOBAL_DIR directory. Certain customers do not require this.

Other terms

ADS, Adobe document services, GLOBAL_DIR
Reason and Prerequisites

You do not want print files in GLOBAL_DIR.

Solution

After you implement this note and apply the specified kernel patch, the print files are saved in the client-specific subdirectories of GLOBAL_DIR. The subdirectories have the name ADSP.
Execute the report RSPO_MOVE_ADS_FILES to activate the new system behavior.
You can also use the report to adjust old spool requests (whose print files were previously saved in GLOBAL_DIR) to the new behavior.
The following options exist:

1. Closing spool requests: Nothing more can be attached as a result, which means that no more new files are created for these spool requests. The old spool requests stop in GLOBAL_DIR and they can still be printed, but they are no longer displayed. The option is very fast and is recommended if the display is no longer required because the spool requests will soon be deleted, for example.

2. Deleting spool requests: This is the safest method. We recommend that you delete as many spool requests as possible if they are no longer required.

3. Moving spool requests: The ADS files of GLOBAL_DIR are moved to the client-specific subdirectory relevant to the spool request. This may take longer depending on the number of files. We recommend this method if you still require the spool requests.

You can use all three actions on all existing requests, on requests of a certain user or on individual numbers. You can also execute the report several times, for example, if you first only close the requests, but then a certain user wants to view a request again. The new behavior is activated after the first run of the report and is no longer reset.
We recommend that you only execute the report if no ADS spool requests are created in parallel.
After you implement the correction instructions, you must manually insert the attached text elements in the report RSPO_MOVE_ADS_FILES.
